Its a question that inevitably comes up in every conversation we have with businesses looking to use RSS for streamlining communications. We take the ability to transport email between organisations for granted and I think we need RSS to have the same abilities.

On the other side, blogging provides a means of communication that people may need and dont currently have within their organization. While I havent yet conducted enough interviews to support any real conclusions, reduction in email is the most concrete benefit mentioned so far. Good point, Jack.

Dreaming of a new inbox

One of the liberating aspects of changing jobs is the idea of starting a fresh with a new email inbox. So far this year I've managed to accumulate 2GB of email data, which means I would be on track for a 4GB mailbox by the end of the year. And you wonder why I'm so interested in Enterprise RSS.)

If I put my two cents worth in to get the ball rolling, here are my three new dimensions: Boundedness - is the technology open to participation (a blog), or is it closed (an email mailing list); Cohesiveness - will the tool create consensus or help groups of users, or is it designed for individuals.
