Monday, 4 June 2007 More on E&Y's approach to KM I know there is always interest in Ernst & Young s approach to KM, so I keep my eyes open for new articles and case studies that are available in the public domain - here are two more: InsideKnowledge magazine interviewed Shirely Jackson , a UK-based director in the Ernst & Young Center for Business Knowledge in 2004. see my case study from 2004 ) At Ernst & Young Australia we even supported account teams with a structured process to deploy project databases (called Engagement Team Databases and Pursuit Team Databases , they could be deployed on demand using an automated process) where users could edit each others pages or simply add comments.

Intranets and social computing - first mover disadvantage?

ChiefTech

Outside of the top tier accounting firms (who have always understood they are involved in knowledge work), I’ve yet to find any large organisations with such a cohesive or advanced intranet, so I like to track public case studies and articles about Ernst & Young ’s intranet and knowledge management program to see how it is progressing since I left in 2004.

My experiences with Lotus Notes at Ernst & Young on the otherhand, where I worked in their global knowledge management and extranet teams between 1999 and 2004, were very different. In fact it was the experience of watching how NavigatorLite was used that first started my interest in user-generated software tools like Quickplace (a Web-based Lotus Notes application often used for projects - see my case study published here ), EMCs eRoom , and more recently the whole Web 2.0

IDEA 2008: An Interview with Bill DeRouchey

" In 2004, I was hired as an IA by Ziba Design, a product design company, not an obvious match. Tracing it back is an interesting case study. As IDEA 2008 draws closer, the IA Institute is conducting a series of interviews with the speakers for the conference. As Event Coordinator for IDEA , I fill a variety of roles, including the Interviewer of IDEA Presenters (which I proudly share with Liz Danzico).
