It's basic privacy hygiene. The slip up was enough for law enforcement to unravel a carefully constructed web of deception. So privacy in my opinion, is on a sliding scale. But I view internet privacy differently. In my personal life, I'm not hiding from the law. Had it worked, it might have been brilliant.
