What follows below is an edited version of the debate in the House of Lords of the Second Reading of the Data Protection Bill, held on 10 October. However, a recent YouGov survey of the public commissioned by the BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT, shows very little support for this. Therefore, we need to give reassurance on that.
