The college, founded in 1246 and home to the oldest continuously functioning library for university academics and students in the world, was a fitting venue for over 100 delegates from 12 countries, who gathered for two days of presentations, workshops and discussion. The real highlight of this year’s gathering were the User Focus Groups.

Around 30 partners and friends of Archive-It gathered in person at the D.C. The first hour wrapped up with an Archiving and Data Services (ADS) update from Product Operations Manager, Kody Willis.

The first half of the week was taken up by a two day workshop on arrangement and description of digital archives, led by Carol Kussman (University of Minnesota Libraries) and Chris Prom (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign). The presenters were consistent in discussing the need for accurate and appropriate metadata.
