I ran Scott's latest crawl of the Alexa Top 1M sites and grabbed the JSON for sites served over HTTP (he makes all of these publicly accessible so you can follow along if you'd like). The bottom line is that we're down to about 4% and a bit of the Alexa Top 1M we simply can't account for and a bunch of those definitely don't go anywhere.
