Our focus is to gain knowledge about any challenges that corporate legal teams encounter in relation to these new data types and their relationship with ediscovery and information governance.The adoption of collaboration tools such as Slack and Microsoft Teams in enterprises has experienced remarkable growth in recent years. These platforms offer a wide range of features that are specifically designed to enhance communication, collaboration, and productivity within organizations. For instance, collaboration platforms enable remote work, boost efficiency, promote collaboration among cross-functional teams, streamline workflow through integrations with third-party applications, and provide mobile accessibility to ensure employee engagement even when they are away from their workstations.

Although collaboration tools like Slack and Microsoft Teams offer many advantages, they can pose several challenges in a legal setting. Enterprise legal teams often worry about data security, privacy, litigation holds, data preservation, and ediscovery. However, caselaw has clearly determined that collaboration data is discoverable and not excessively burdensome. Therefore, companies must integrate collaborative data sources into their compliance practices and ediscovery response to ensure they are in compliance with legal requirements.

We have forged a partnership with the Association of Certified Ediscovery Specialists (ACEDS) to conduct a brief survey for the fourth consecutive year consisting of multiple-choice questions.
