AIIM Conference Preview: Content Analytics & ECM Implementation Across the Enterprise

Enterprise Content Management (ECM)  |  AIIM Conference  |  Analytics

AIIM19 is coming soon to San Diego on March 26-28 and as usual the gathering will be the place to be for information management professionals. If you plan on attending you should mark your calendar for an important roundtable session called “When You Are in the Storm: Content Analytics & ECM Implementation Across the Enterprise” being hosted by John Daly, Information Governance Manager the Metropolitan Sewer District in St. Louis. I asked John to give us a small preview of the session.

Can you tell us more about your session and what we can expect?

There is mutual benefit in the rubbing of two iron blades together; the edges become sharper, making the knives more efficient in their mission. The goal of this session is to learn and encourage one another in our mutual mission of implementing positive organizational change throughout the Enterprise.

How does content analytics bring value to enterprise information governance?

As one Director in our organization said recently, “Why should I be concerned with Information Governance, how does it add value to the business?” They were not being negative, they were genuinely curious. And that is part of the storm, showing the true business value of Information Governance. Samuel Johnson once said, “People need to be reminded more often than they need to be instructed.” This roundtable is just that, sharing with one another rather than a formal presentation. Hopefully this session will help get you level set on what is needed for your organization. Maybe it is developing an IG roadmap or a project plan; maybe it is forming a steering committee, developing policies and procedures, data migration, software selection, an audit plan, training, communications, an IG intranet site…phew!

What do you mean by “storm?”

We’re currently in the pilot phase of software implementation and some days the seas are calm and other days they’re a raging tempest. In addition, we’re working on an IG Implementation plan that includes email, privacy, reducing ROT, and other initiatives. And all of this boils down to one thing, user adoption. How can we make things as simple as possible for the business units while still meeting regulatory requirements and improving efficiency?

How will this roundtable discussion help attendees weather the storm?

There is not a one size fits all but in this session you’ll get the inspiration and motivation to implement IG in your organization. Benchmarking is a fantastic opportunity to gain knowledge and learn from other’s experiences. It’s also great to make new relationships that you can foster and develop throughout the year.

Make sure to include John’s panel discussion in your plans for AIIM19. Find out more and reserve your spot today at AIIMConference.com.
