Threatpost News Wrap Podcast For Jan. 25

From a massive GDPR fine on a big tech company, to an emergency government security alert, here are the top security stories of the week.

Threatpost editors Tom Spring, Tara Seals and Lindsey O’Donnell discuss the biggest news from this week.

That includes a rare “emergency directive” issued by the Department of Homeland Security on Tuesday, which warned that multiple government domains have been targeted by DNS hijacking attacks. Google also made headlines this week when it was slapped with a $57 million (€50 million) fine for violations of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Also making waves in the Threatpost newsroom this week was a webinar held on Jan. 23, where Tom Spring and data-breach hunter Chris Vickery of Upguard discussed the top lessons learned from data breaches and the best tips for dealing with a breach. You can find a replay of the webinar here.
