The panel will take place in Hunton & Williams’ New York office from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. EDT, with a cocktail reception following the presentation. The Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration (“ITA”) will brief participants on important international data privacy issues, including:

  • the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (“APEC”) group’s work to implement the Cross-Border Privacy Rules System;
  • the APEC-EU joint working team on interoperability;
  • the European Commission’s proposed General Data Protection Regulation;
  • the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership negotiations; and
  • the U.S.-EU and U.S.-Swiss Safe Harbor Frameworks.
