Describing web archives: A recap and recording of the Archive-It Advanced Training webinar with presentations of descriptive practices recommended by OCLC’s Web Archiving Metadata Working Group and partners in research libraries and archives.
Creating and following a web collecting policy in a public library: A dispatch from Community Webs partner Emily Ward at the East Baton Rouge Parish Library, summarizing the process of refining, implementing, and following a community-focused collection development plan for web archives.
Web archiving and public knowledge: A report back from partners at the Vancouver Library Staff Conference and their panel on the collaborations that make community web archives possible at different scales.
Advancing Art Libraries and Curated Web Archives
The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) awarded a collaborative grant to Archive-It and the New York Art Resources Consortium (NYARC) to catalyze collaboration among art libraries in the stewardship of historically valuable art-related materials published on the web through a national forum event. The grant partners will host a symposium and associated workshops and stakeholder meetings in 2019; watch this space for updates on time and place. In the meantime, we invite all interested to join one of two scheduled webinars in order to learn more about the events, their goals, and how you can contribute. The new Conservation Pavilion at the National Zoo
