Update on Jamf Training courses

Following closely behind the release of Jamf Pro 11, we are delighted to announce that our Jamf 200, 240, 300, 370, and 400 instructor-led training courses have now been updated to support both Jamf Pro 11 and the latest Apple operating system releases!

Five courses have been updated

Updating five instructor-led training courses at once has allowed a more streamlined and consistent learner experience.

In addition to ensuring that all course material functionally works with the latest versions of Jamf Pro, Jamf Protect, iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, we are excited to introduce an updated digital set of course materials from student setup to workbook and beyond.

A better learning experience

This new update allows for product changes to appear more quickly in course materials.

As such, you will find many small changes throughout the course content along with some new workflows as well. Especially in the Jamf 400 Course, there are several new tasks and workflows with the Jamf Pro API and a completely reimagined certification exam.

One thing we won't be changing

Amidst all the updates, we have not strayed from the same responsive teaching and hands-on courses that you have come to appreciate and expect from Jamf.

In conjunction with this updated content, we also have some exciting changes involving our certifications.

Updated names

While names such as the Jamf Certified Admin have become synonymous with a deep understanding of both the Jamf and Apple platforms, as Jamf has evolved it is only natural that our certifications do, too.

Gone are the days when we only had a single product to train and certify our students on. Now, we have a variety of management, security and identity tools, such as: Jamf Pro, Jamf School, Jamf Connect, and Jamf Protect.

To enable us to continue scaling our training and certification offerings moving forward, from today all issued certifications will reflect both the level of certification achieved and the name of the primary product.

For example, by taking and passing the exam included with the Jamf 200 Course, you can now become a Jamf Certified Tech – Jamf Pro. Passing the Jamf 240 exam will result in being issued a Jamf Certified Tech – Jamf School certification.

Digital badges

In conjunction with the naming updates, all certifications issued from now onwards, from our associate level Jamf Pro and Jamf Protect certifications all the way up to our Jamf Certified Expert – Jamf Pro, will receive a Jamf badge.

Our digital credentialing partner, Credly, will issue these badges. Credly is a leading provider of digital badging that is trusted by over 3,500 certification and training providers, including 95% of the top IT certifications.

This digital badge will allow you to share your abilities online in a simple way that can be verified in real time, and they can accompany badges you may have earned from Apple, Microsoft, Okta, Google, Cisco, and others.

We are excited to offer our students a way to easily share their hard-earned achievements.

Validity periods

The last change we are making to our certifications is the introduction of validity periods.

Our products are rapidly evolving to meet the needs of our customers. Therefore, we believe that adding validity periods to our certifications will help both students and employers easily verify the knowledge and skills that certification holders have.

This is something that we introduced two years ago for certifications earned from the Jamf 370 Course (It has a two-year validity). We continued this effort in October with the release of the Jamf 240 Course and its associated Jamf Certified Tech – Jamf School certification (With a three-year year validity.)

As of today, our Jamf Certified Tech, Admin, and Expert for Jamf Pro certifications related to the Jamf 200, 300, and 400 courses respectively will now have a three-year validity period.

We hope you are as excited about these changes as we are, and we look forward to seeing you in class soon!
