Extending our Microsoft partnership with Device Compliance for iOS

Jamf and Microsoft's partnership addresses Device Compliance for iOS and security to better serve organizations.

As the world of work has changed this year, so has the day-to-day reality of managing Apple devices in the enterprise. Supporting remote staff has never been more critical and many admins need the best purpose-built tools to help their organization succeed: Jamf for Apple and Microsoft for other devices.

That is why we are excited to announce Device Compliance for iOS, a new integration for Jamf Pro that lets organizations choose Jamf for iOS management while still sharing critical device information, like compliance status, with Microsoft Endpoint Manager.

Device Compliance for iOS is available today in preview in Jamf Pro, and is expected to be generally available for all Jamf Pro customers later this year. The new integration will be added to Jamf Pro as a new menu under “Global Management”.

Effectively managing mobile devices is even more essential during the rapid pace of change this year. With Device Compliance for iOS, admins will establish compliance criteria to ensure that iOS devices meet security standards before accessing organizational resources. With rich inventory data, Jamf Pro shares devices information with Microsoft Endpoint Manager, which then determines a device’s compliance status. If a device is not compliant based on an admin’s chosen criteria, access is denied and the end user is directed to Jamf Self Service to begin remediation.

In 2017, Jamf and Microsoft announced a collaboration to bring Conditional Access to macOS, which included the ability to share inventory data from Jamf Pro to Microsoft Intune, apply Conditional Access and offer remediation paths – ensuring that trusted users are accessing corporate data from trusted applications on trusted devices. Then in 2018, Jamf again expanded Microsoft technology integration to create a more seamless login experience for end users.

Device Compliance for iOS is expected to be generally available for all Jamf Pro customers later this year.
