Over the course of 2015/16 the Preservica team has been pairing up with the Information and Records Management Society (IRMS) and ARA (UK) to deliver a series of practical workshops and webinars on digital preservation.

Visiting seven cities across the UK, from London, to Edinburgh, to Dublin, over 200 IRMS and Archives and Records Association (ARA) members attended the workshop sessions, with a further 250 joining for the six ‘how to’ webinars.

The successful and highly popular programme of events was presented by digital preservation experts, and supported by a range of guest speakers. Aiming to introduce the fundamentals of digital preservation in an easy to follow and interactive format, the workshops took participants beyond the theory by illustrating topics with examples and demonstrations of practical, real-world digital preservation workflows and processes.

It was an enormous pleasure for Preservica to work with IRMS and ARA, and a brilliant opportunity to introduce records management professionals to digital preservation. More importantly, we received some very positive feedback from attendees of the sessions, and were delighted to hear them speak of an “instructive, useful and fun” course that was “well designed to provide confidence and some great tips for the future”.

Next up, we’ll be attending and presenting at the annual IRMS conference in Brighton. The Preservica team will be hosting a Case Study Café session on Tuesday 17th May @ 2pm, ‘Will Your Vital Long-Term Electronic Records Still Be Readable In 10 Years?’, and will be on hand at booth #2 to answer your digital preservation questions.

Why not drop by booth #2 to collect your exclusive copy of the brand new report from the Information Governance Initiative (IGI), focusing on the governance of long-term digital information. And for a chance to win a Kindle enter our Superhero PRIZE Draw!

The conference looks set to be a fantastic event with lots of opportunity for new insight, so be sure to come and say hello to the team. We’ll see you there!
