The COVID-19 pandemic has changed lives across the globe. Along with the tragic loss of life, many have lost their incomes as well. To help those in need, countless organizations and individuals have organized food giveaway programs in their communities. These programs have given away millions of pounds of food to those experiencing food insecurity. One such program is happening at Denton’s Hope Center at Cross Timbers Church.
Jeff Taylor, son of Armstrong Archives President and Managing Partner, Sherri Taylor, is a pastor at Hope Center. He let his mom know that the center’s food bank needed boxes to package up food donations. Because Sherri knows practically everything there is to know about boxes, she was on it!
While she had thousands available in the warehouse, Sherri quickly determined her archival storage boxes were not right for the job. The two-part, heavy duty records storage boxes are simply too weighty and would become unmanageable when filled with canned goods, rice, beans, and fresh produce.
Fortunately, Sherri knew exactly where to go for a solution. She reached out to business partner Jeff Watson at Armstrong Relocation (parent company of Armstrong Archives) to ask for help.
Jeff was more than happy to oblige and before you know it, 500 moving boxes were on their way to Hope Center. Armstrong Relocation’s cartons filled the bill perfectly and in a matter of hours, volunteers had them filled with groceries for hungry families!
