New ways to learn about web archiving and Archive-It

The Web Archiving Workflow, from the new “Guide for new Archive-It users.”

We recently highlighted opportunities for partners and peers to learn more about web archiving technology and practices through the Archive-It Advanced Training webinar series–all recorded and available on-demand. As more organizations and communities find web archiving needs though, Internet Archive staff are also introducing new and extended training materials to get them crawling for the first time.

We’ve introduced an updated onboarding process for new Archive-It partners, featuring a self-guided curriculum and optional live follow-up meeting with one of our Web Archivists. Our goal is to provide new partners with training materials that are hands-on, flexible, and shareable when and wherever they are needed.

Partners at all experience levels can also sign up for Archive-It Office Hours. These 1:1 virtual meetings with Archive-It staff can help to resolve issues with web scoping and crawling, collection management, and quality assurance. May dates are still available.

And all web archiving partners and friends are always very welcome to provide live feedback on these and other Archive-It offerings at one of our many open calls. See our Community Calendar for an up-to-date list of upcoming opportunities to meet virtually with Archive-It staff and partners to discuss new developments and programs.

For more information, please visit our Help Center. And always let us know how you’re managing in the Community Forum; we’re always eager to update the tools and their guides to meet your web archiving needs.
